Uhm... drat. I just realized that I've never even mentioned on dA that Mars is part pegasus and part hippocampus. The physics on how they can withdraw their legs and sprout the tail is still unclear; Hippocami were believed to be extinct on Superion after Mammon destroyed Djinn, where most of the equine-based mythics lived, so obviously there have been very few studies done (if any). To the best of our knowledge, Mars, Calvin, and Clover are the last of their species.
Anyway, so that is why Calvin has a tail.
